In 1996, Adolescent Consultation Services (ACS) began publishing Kids and the Law: A User’s Guide to the Court System, a book co-authored by Rebecca Pries, co-chair of MAJCC, and attorney Carol Rosensweig.

This bilingual guide to the court system is currently being used by:

  • Families of court-involved youth,
  • Schools,
  • Colleges,
  • Probation departments,
  • Lawyers representing court-involved youth,
  • Hospitals,
  • Libraries,
  • Broad spectrum of professionals who work with children and families.

Kids and the Law is available in Spanish/English editions to assist Hispanic communities.  This book answers, in a simple question-and-answer format with bilingual facing pages, questions related to juvenile court involvement in Massachusetts. This straightforward guide to the procedures of the Massachusetts Juvenile Court will be updated and republished in an English/Spanish edition towards the end of 2018.
